Module 2: Maneuvering

Introduction  

When we move from meandering to maneuvering, we become more strategic in our career exploration.  We take active steps towards shaping the course of our career paths. We become proactive in our career development, more knowledgeable about the labour market and the world of work; we target our learning and skills development, we find allies and take calculated risks. 

Learning Objectives  

• Define the concept of maneuvering in the context of the career development process; 

• Examine the structure and the component that shape the labour market; 

• Look at the structure of opportunity and how it is shaped by resources available in the local community, our ability to be aware of existing opportunities and the opportunities we create for ourselves; 

• Support using a range of tools to help clients and students maneuver in their career
