Course Description
This course builds the core skills and specialized techniques needed to effectively build a working alliance and deliver quality services across the full career development process. It examines career development in the context of transitions and supports quality service delivery from the initial exploration of client strengths and needs through to action planning and follow-up. This course will also provide an opportunity for career development professionals to refine their personal approaches to practice.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this course, you will:
- Refine your personal approach to practice
- Integrate an understanding of your client’s context and utilize knowledge of how change and transition affect their movement through the career development process
- Incorporate core attitudes and skills to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with clients
- Understand the big picture of career development and its applications in your delivery setting
- Conduct a strength-based employability assessment consistently and comprehensively using the Employability Dimensions framework
- Link identified clients’ strengths and needs with goal setting, interventions and action planning to fully engage the client, monitor their progress and adjust planning and services to reflect clients’ evolving needs
Completion
Course certificates are awarded through completion of all module activities, learning checks, and a final demonstration of learning.
